Michael Hale

Meet Michael

Michael Hale was born and raised in DeKalb County. His family moved from the small community of Gassaway to Liberty when he was 10 years old. At the age of 11, he began working at Prichard’s Grocery, learning the value of hard work early in life. At 14, he began working at a funeral home, and that same year, answered the call to preach. Having grown up on the family farm, he worked with farmers around the community by hauling hay and working in the tobacco fields. After graduating from DeKalb County High School, he attended mortuary college and in 1999, opened DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Michael has pastored churches in DeKalb and Warren Counties, and has preached revivals and other services in the surrounding counties. He is active in his community, serving as the Chair of the Housing Authority Board in Smithville, President of the DeKalb County High School Basketball Booster Club, and is a member of the Tennessee Cattlemen’s Association, the National Rifle Association, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the Smith-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce. Michael has been married to Tara Webb Hale for 27 years, and has three children and three grandchildren.
